Schantz received the award from Kathy Ranaldi, who was a WTA top 10 player in singles and doubles before retiring in 1997.
“It was an amazing event and I was honored to be presented the award from Kathy Ranaldi,” Schantz said in an email. “It was great meeting and working with the best college coaches in the nation from all divisions and I am even more motivated to coach a great team again this season.”
Schantz has a 52-22 team record in five seasons at Pima. Her team took second in the NJCAA Region I Championships last season and finished with a 13-4 record.
