USTA SOUTHERN ARIZONA 10 & UNDER SLAM SERIES
 

The USTA Southern Arizona district (Tucson-area) held its' first-ever 10 & Under Series event on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Tucson Racquet Club. Nearly 30 junior players (all under 10 years old) took part in the district's first foray into series events for 8 & Under and 10 & Under divisions of play.

These are gender neutral events, the first stab at competition for many youngsters just starting to play.

These 'series events' for 10 & Unders have been modeled after the successful 10 & Under Series that began last year in the Phoenix area and that USTA Southwest is advocating for all of our districts to attempt. 

Participants in the USTA Southern Arizona 10 & Under Series will have four events to play this spring (see schedule below), 'Grand Slams' if you will for this age range.

The goal is to ease new players into non-rankings, low-pressure events to get them used to competing in a fun way before they embark upon more serious explorations of the sport.

The events are held in shorter time frames (1-2:30 PM) and will be on Sundays.

They are just singles events. All events cost just $18 to participate.

Players that play in the USTA 10 & Under Series events receive bag tags for each event played, and are encouraged to complete the Slam by playing all four! 

For each event entered, players will get a raffle chance at winning an Apple iPad Mini, to be raffled off at the end of the series in late March.

The more events played, the better their odds of winning the iPad Mini.
