2010 Junior Camps Scholarship Program

USTA Southwest is pleased to announce the 2010 Junior Camp Scholarship Program. Applications for scholarships are now being accepted through April 5 for USTA Southwest junior players.

USTA Southwest has made arrangements with some of the top tennis summer camps in America for our players to attend and receive instruction. These camps are the Nike Tennis Camps in Tucson, Ariz., the Longhorns Tennis Camp in Austin, Texas, Aggie Tennis Camp in College Station, Texas and the Gorin Tennis Academy in Granite Bay, Calif.

Scholarships to these summer camps include room, board, and instruction. Scholarship recipients are required to provide their own transportation to and from the camp.

Campers should rank their preference for the camps below in order of their preference, with 1 being the most desired to attend.

*Criteria for these camps will be strictly enforced
*NOTE: Due to NCAA regulations, recipients of scholarships to NIKE Tennis Camps, Longhorn Tennis Camps, and Aggie Tennis Camps must be under 14 years of age and not in or entering high school in the fall of 2010.

Led by University of Wildcat men’s coach and camp director Tad Berkowitz, these camps at the LeNelle Robson Tennis Complex will include top-flight instruction in a dedicated tennis environment.

Longhorn Tennis Camp – Austin, Texas – www.longhorntenniscamp.com
Led by Longhorns men’s and women’s tennis coaches and camp directors Michael Center and Patty Fendick-McCain, respectively, these camps, now in their 25th year in existence, are held on the University of Texas campus are some of the best-attended in the nation.

Aggie Tennis Camp – College Station, Texaswww.aggietenniscamp.com

Held at the beautiful George Mitchell tennis center, one of the best collegiate facilities in the nation, this camp has it all, including lots of instruction, with a focus on tournament and match play taught by nationally recognized directors.

Gorin Tennis Camp – Granite Bay, Calif.www.gorintennis.com Taught by world-renownded tennis coach Vitaly Gorin, who has worked with the Russian Tennis Federation and been the coach of ATP Touring pros Dmitry Tursunov and Igor Kunitsyn, these camp are for the intermediate to advanced young player looking to get serious about his/her game. The facility is located in Granite Bay. Calif., just outside of Sacramento.
