It's that time again when the Hilton El Conquistador Resort hosts the Annual Fundraiser for the Lupus Foundation of Southern Arizona. This years event will be held on Friday, October 23 from 6:30-9:30 PM. Lupus Foundation President (El Conquistador member and team captain) Jane Toriello, has been busy this month promoting Lupus awareness; she has even starred in a local television commercial! Jane has been living with Lupus for many years and serves as a symbol of hope for many afflicted with the disease.
The Hilton El Conquistador has hosted the fundraiser for several years. Jennifer Fuchs, Director of Tennis commented,"The event is usually well attended by the SAZ tennis community. All players are welcome to register for the event that will be a series of round robin matches - people are encouraged to wear costumes if they like. There will also be a silent auction, refreshments and prizes for the winners. This event has raised over $10,000 through the years; the $25 registration fee will go to the Lupus Foundation of Southern Arizona to fund research and support services."
